Cinderella

When I was little all my favorite movies were Disney movies. My favorites were Cinderella and The Little Mermaid. In both these movies the mother of the main character has passed away, and the father was not the best at parenting. Both these movies also have underlying themes that are not exactly child-friendly. For example, in The Little Mermaid, Ariel can get the man that she loves, but only if she changes everything about herself. She can't be who she truly is if she wants to be with her man. In Cinderella, the young girl works extremely hard for her step mother and step sisters, yet they never give her an ounce of respect. No matter how many things she gives up and does for them, they will never respect her. Ariel and Cinderella were my two childhood hero's because I filtered out all the bad things about these characters, and focused on the good things. Ariel was my hero because she was so determined that she was willing to give up her home and family. Even though she was giving it all up for a guy, which is terrible, she was still passionate about something to change everything. I looked up to Cinderella as a hero because of her kind spirit. She was always cleaning, cooking, and doing chores for people that were terrible to her. She was so kind and caring that eventually something amazing happened to her. Because Cinderella has blond hair I connected to her the most when I was younger. I'm similar to this individual because I've always been kind and caring, but I don't know how I would react in a situation like Cinderella's. I think I would run away because I could never to nice things for people who treated me like a rat.
